Giselle THE Gymnast

Giselle started participating in gymnastics at the age of five.  The gym would host weekly camps during the summer and on holidays when the school was closed, I would sign her up for camp as a way for her to have some activity.

Fast forward to June 2019 when the owner of the gym called me and said "Congratulations, your daughter Giselle has been invited to the "Hot Shot" program." They had been watching all the students in their rec classes and picked 20 gymnasts out of 900 students that were enrolled.  She went on to tell me that they have recognized a lot of potential in Giselle and that they wanted to explore her talents further.  How exciting!  Giselle was eager to become a part of the Hot Shot program!

From June 2019, until today, Giselle has logged over 585 hours of practice time. We take her 3 days a week and each day they practice/condition for 4 hours at a time.  In total, she practices 12 hours per week.  During her sessions, she WORKS HARD.  They are not allowed to sit down at any point during their 4 hour practice and workout the entire time.

All of her hard work has paid off for practicing for a year and a half because she was chosen to compete and is now competing against other teams.  She has competed in three competitions this year and has come home with 6 - 1st place medals and 2 - 2nd place medals!  Her favorite routine is the Floor and the Beam. She has two more to go and if she does well, she will go to state and then also compete in the Bahamas in December!

We are proud of Giselle for the time she has put in for this (in and outside of the gym), her dedication, willpower and sacrifice.  She may be small, but she is fierce and being a gymnast is having the strength to hold on, yet the courage to let go.  Keep flying high little one - everything you need to be GREAT is ALREADY inside of YOU!!!!
