First Day of School

How is it that I now have a 5th and 7th grader?  It's kinda neat that they are back to riding the school bus together.  That only happens every couple of years.

The Turtle.....

Over the summer, we went to a festival in Chinatown.  As we were walking around, the girls came across a table that was selling "turtles."  They wanted it so bad.  So, we came home with a turtle from Chinatown.  I have no idea if it's a boy or a girl, but they think it's a boy and they named it WAFFLE.  Here he is......

Purple Hair....

And then there was that time that Giselle came to me and wanted a purple streak in her hair.  Just like every other color, there are always hidden meanings.  For purple in particular, it could be a way of signifying nobility, royalty, and luxury.  Purple can also mean calm, dignity, and wisdom among other things.  While I am not a big fan of the carnival stripes in the hair, I took her anyway, and she got a purple "stripe" that washed out in about 5 washes.

Summer Camps

For the first time ever, both girls participated in a summer camp and went away for one week.  Isabella traveled to Timber Wolf Lake in Lake City, Michigan while Giselle traveled to Knoxville, Tennessee for FlipFest Gymnastics Camp.
