Poor Baxie

Baxie hasn't got any face time in quite sometime. He is still the same sweethearted, rockin dog who hogs up half the bed at night. I thought only girls played hard to get, but I tell ya, he has not let me take a picture of him in quite sometime. He recently got groomed and looks like a brand new DOGGIE. We had to catch him when he was SLEEPING and protecting his newfound love, Isabella. Another benefit of being a mom, everyone keeps you warm : )

Izzy's First Tooth

When a baby begins teething, there is no set pattern on when it will begin, how long it will take and how painful it will be. Her bottom teeth are coming in and it looks like she is right on schedule according to the experts.

6 to 7 months
Incisors
Two central bottom & Two central top teeth.

7 to 9 months
Two more incisors
Top & bottom; making four top & four bottom teeth in all.

10 to 14 months
First molars
Double teeth for chewing

15 to 18 months
Canines
The pointed teeth or “fangs”

2 to 3 years
Second molars
The second set of double teeth at the back

Big girl is in a bit of pain - not sleeping, drooling, runny nose and irritable. We are trying to make her feel better and take the pain away. Here is a picture of Izzy with her Elmo toothbrush and paste from Grams & Gramps V.

My First Baseball Game

Today on Easter, I put on five layers of clothes, a hat, and a blanket to watch the Chicago White Sox. The temperature was supposed to be in the 50's, but it ended up being in the 30's, not to mention the wind that was blowing in my face! I lasted through half of the game, but then I fell asleep, so I missed who won. Daddy told me later that the White Sox won. Mommy said that's okay, I should be a Cubs fan anyways......

Hoppy Easter!!

I Love Dresses

Saturday Brunch

So today, I learned that you don't have to make 4 pounds of macaroni and cheese for a family of 7, plus a baby. What was I thinking? Bob just laughed at me as I had two big casserole dishes in the oven - everything was boiling over onto the bottom of the oven and the whole house was smoking. We didn't even put a dent in the mac and cheese. Maybe I was secretly destined to cook big bulks of food - because it was fun!! Soups - BE PROUD - I am finally on the path to your journey - homemade cakes and I even decorated it with sprinkles - see exhibit A. I think I make frosting better than Betty Jean - so glad she taught me to do that! It was titled - April showers bring May flowers - Can you see the umbrella? Next up, I am still toying with this video deal and uploading. One day, I will successfully master the art of NOT catching clips SIDEWAYS so our viewers don't strain their necks. Lastly, I am still stuffed from brunch! Ham, baked beans, green bean casserole, mac and cheese, appetizers, deviled eggs, dirt pudding, cookies, cheese, vino.... Izzy and Baxie are beat and I am happy that we were all able to get together and enjoy such a beautiful sunshine day. Thanks everyone! Everything was YUMMY.

A Fun Day was Had By All

Good Friday. A day for celebration, good eats, family and the best of friends. Today, we spent the afternoon enjoying some authentic mexican food with our dear friend Monica and her family. Josi meets Izzy for the first time and she is so patient, loving, kind, and playful. A fun time was had by all, and everyone was amazed at how well behaved little Izzy was.

Before I was a Mom

One of my friends sent me this poem the other day and I read it and thought....WOW...all of these things are so true and close to the heart. When you marry your husband, it's you two and you rock the world together and you think - this is grand, BUT then, when you have a child - your heart grows even bigger and the bond between your family is priceless.

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom .

7 Months Old...

High Times

Soups coops and chicken poops - superfly! Thanks for always making your home warm and welcome for little Isabella. You and Elad have opened your heart in so many ways, loving up on her, special dresses for every occasion, a beddie for Izzy to sleep in, toys, bities, and so much more. All of your gestures do not go unnoticed! Here is a picture of little Isabella in her high chair for the very first time....and she loves it - thanks to you : )

FIRST DAY of School Photos

I am surrounded by empty nesters.  For now, I am still celebrating the firsts.  There are always firsts in life...right? I have never been ...
