Pierogi Fest 2022

I love me some polish food, which is why I never miss a chance to head to Whiting, Indiana when they have their annual Pierogi festival.  For four years, I have been dedicated to going and trying to eat everything under the sun before we head back home.  This year, we had pizza pierogis - one with sausage, one with pepperoni, loaded baked potato pierogis topped with sour cream, chives and crispy bacon, a grilled polish sausage plate with sauerkraut and even a chicken gyro (not so polish). YUMMY!!

Giselle and Isabella don't care too much for the polish food, they go for slushies, cotton candy and the games.  Until next year Pierogi fest!

Do you know how to stick a SPOON to your nose?

Looks like I have not posted since March!!  I desperately need a new phone, so I promised myself I would upload photos from the year to the blog and then get a new one.

While waiting for dinner at a 5- star classy restaurant, I asked Isabella and Giselle if they knew how to stick a spoon to their nose.  I know what you are thinking.....Why would I ask them that at dinner?  Not an appropriate time or etiquette behavior, I know.  They were facing the wall of the restaurant in which no one saw them sticking that spoon to their nose.

Life is too short to always be so serious and not lighten up. AND NOW.....they know how to stick a spoon to their nose. (Wink, wink)

7th Grade Basketball

Basketball season is officially over for Isabella.  She had a great season of practicing 4 times per week and 2 games every week.  We enjoyed watching her play.  Now, she has started track practicing 5 times per week.  Between her schedule and Giselle's gymnastics schedule, they keep us "running" every day.

Isabella's Surprises

About 3-4 times per week, Isabella will randomly draw me a picture and hang it on the fridge, put it on my night stand or on my bathroom counter.  I love her little surprises and notes.  The other night as she was eating dinner, she pulled out her sketch book and drew the backyard as she was eating.  I think this one might have to be framed!  I have been saving all of her drawings over the years and hope to one day create a book for her with all of them.  Wouldn't that be neat?

Giselle Turns 11

Happy 11th Birthday Giselle!  For her special day, she got all of her favorites.  Portillo's hot dog for lunch, chicken fried rice from the Thai restaurant, a giant cookie and a little pampering with a pedicure!

Christmas 2021

Twas a Christmas to remember......  The girls have been asking me for 2 years now for another puppy.  Bob and I discussed it and decided to add another addition to the family for Giselle as a Christmas gift.  I have been following a breeder recommended to me by a very close friend for months and when I saw that they had a "mini" goldendoodle available, I didn't miss a beat.  I put down a deposit and set up a date to make that 9 hour drive to Iowa to get Jasper.  But then, two days later, I woke up and with coffee saw his sister Sophia and she was so stinking cute!!

I immediately showed her to Bob and he said NO MORE DOGS SANDY.  And then the next day I woke up and saw their brother Jack.  What are the odds that you can have multiple dogs from the same litter?  And how often in your lifetime will that happen? It's like once in a lifetime right?  My thoughts exactly.  Our Christmas was magical needless to say.  The girls received a surprise of a lifetime, Bob received a surprise of his own and we had a yummy prime rib dinner.  MY HEART IS FULL.  I never came home with Jack.  Someone scooped him out from under me at the last minute.  HOWEVER, I believe in FATE.  As I type this blog, I am ecstatic to share with you that Jack's family backed out on him.  I am leaving on Tuesday to make that 9 hour drive to pick him up so he can be with his brother and sister and we will have 4 dogs!!!  Lily, Sophia (Giselle changed her name to Chloe), Jasper, and Jack.
